Still waiting for my treatment, but at least I know what’s going to happen.
I will be having my kidney removed on 16th August in Newcastle. Apparently there is a 90+% likelihood that it will be a cancer of the kidney, but I won’t know for definite until after the operation, when the kidney will be sent for analysis. But the tumour is placed in the centre of the kidney, so it would have to come out whatever.
At the moment, the consultant is telling me that it appears that the cancer is confined to the kidney, so if it is all removed, then there is a good chance that I won’t need further treatment.
I guess it all depends on what they find when they actually get in there.
But I am working on one step at a time, so let’s get the operation out of the way first, then worry about what come next.
