Had a wonderful weekend last week at Stones Barn in the borders. It was a weekend called singing for pleasure and it was run by Maddy Prior from Steeleye Span and Nancy Kerr from the Melrose Quartet.
Now folk music is not usually my thing, but when learning songs over a weekend, it’s a good style to pick up and harmonise fairly easily.
the two ladies were excellent tutors and the weekend was full of singing, fun and lovely food. All the people on the weekend were great – no massive egos competing for space, but just a relaxed, informal singing group all there to enjoy it.
I will be going back again..
