Tomorrow is the shortest day, so I’m pretty pleased that from now on the days will lengthen again. Today never really got light at all as it was so grey and wet.
The factory is on a hill looking towards the coast so we catch the wind from the west. And wind it is! Biting cold, penetrating wind.
At lunchtime yesterday I went to the garage in the next road to wash the car. Using on of those pressure wash hoses, I did the hot foam wash, then power rinse, but the wind blew the water mist back at me and the wind was so blustery that I had to fight with the nozzle! By the time I got back in the car my fingers were frozen and my teeth were chattering.
Lunchtime today was Christmas lunch. Just for my team at work. We ordered the lunch from the food place across the road from the factory, we moved tables, covered them with Christmas cloths, had fairy lights, etc. it was really nice. Just 10 of us and the lunch was great value. It came in polystyrene containers, but we had turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffing, mash & roast potatoes, peas, carrots, sprouts, cranberry sauce and gravy, with a cracker and a mince pie all for £5.25.
Needless to say, I could hardly move all afternoon and about 2.30 I found myself fighting a snooze….
It’s the last day at work tomorrow, I finish at 12pm, then have two weeks off. I’m going for lunch with a friend on the way home, then it’ll be relax….
Ready for a holiday, although I’ve got quite a few things planned in this year.
I was supposed to be at centreparcs carol singing tomorrow evening, but I don’t think I’ll have time.
Might go carol singing in the borrow dale valley instead on Sunday/Monday evenings.
I’m not a Christian and don’t celebrate Christmas, but I love singing and there are some great tunes among those carols!
Goodnight 🙂
